TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology earned a pair of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards for efforts in last week's victories.
Hogan came off the bench to rush for a career-high 121 yards on a career-high 33 carries in Rose-Hulman's 23-22 victory at No. 14 ranked Franklin College on Saturday. His efforts included the game winning one-yard touchdown run to the pylon with 21 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
The win marked Rose-Hulman's first football victory over a nationally ranked team since 1993 and the first home loss for Franklin in conference play since 2009. Rose-Hulman improved to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play with the win.
Wells scored her seventh and eighth goals of the season to help Rose-Hulman knock Mount St. Joseph from the ranks of the conference unbeatens 2-1 on Thursday night. Her goals marked the first scores allowed by Mount St. Joseph during the 2016 conference season.
The women's soccer team secured a bid to the HCAC Tournament with the victory. Rose-Hulman stands 11-5 and 6-1 in conference play after defeating Mount St. Joseph and receiving a forfeit win over Bluffton last week.
The football team returns home to face Bluffton on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Women's soccer closes its regular season schedule at Franklin on Wednesday and at Hanover on Saturday.
