Soccer Teams Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology was one of just 208 colleges across the country to have both its men's and women's soccer teams earn a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2016 season, in results released by the national organization.

To earn the award -- which is presented one season behind -- teams must have an average grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A total of 837 teams received the honor.

The 2016 Rose-Hulman men's soccer team finished 14-6 overall and won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title at 9-0 while compiling a 3.21 team grade point average.  The 2016 women's soccer squad reached the HCAC Tournament with an 11-8 record and a 6-3 league mark, along with a 3.15 team grade point average.

The NSCAA College Team Academic Award winners for 2017 will be announced at this time next year.
