TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Alec McNally has been named an honorable mention preseason All-American for the upcoming 2016 season by d3baseball.com.
McNally was selected as a relief pitcher on the honorable mention preseason All-America squad after three strong seasons at Rose-Hulman. Last season, McNally finished 4-1 with a 0.46 earned run average, six saves and 12 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work.
McNally ranks second in Rose-Hulman history with 15 career saves entering his senior season. His overall record stands at 6-3 in 39 appearances with 32 strikeouts in 45 innings of work. McNally has a career earned run average of 1.80 entering the upcoming season.
McNally was chosen second-team all-region by d3baseball.com after the 2015 season and had six consecutive scoreless appearances to open the season.
Rose-Hulman finished second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings as part of a 26-16 season last spring. The Fightin' Engineers open the 2016 season with a doubleheader against Ohio Northern on Feb. 28 as part of the team's Florida Spring Trip.
