TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Andrew Stull has honored by two national organizations as the Division III Baseball Pitcher of the Week after tossing a no-hitter against Ohio Northern University on Sunday.
Stull was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division III Pitcher of the Week and also earned one of three slots on the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week for his performance on Sunday.
Stull tossed the first no-hitter in NCAA Division III this season and the eighth no-hitter in Rose-Hulman history on Sunday in the team's 7-0 win over Ohio Northern. The right-hander allowed no hits or walks with nine strikeouts. Stull faced the minimum 27 batters after erasing the game's only baserunner on a double play.
The mechanical engineering and computer science/software engineering double major improved his career record to 12-12 with a 3.16 earned run average and 121 strikeouts in 196.2 innings of work with Sunday's performance.
Rose-Hulman stands 4-1 on the season after defeating Neumann 9-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Fightin' Engineers return to action against Capital on Friday and Rhode Island College on Saturday before returning home to Indiana.
