TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed two players on the d3football.com all-North Region Team, in results released by the national website.
Demos started every game of his career on the Rose-Hulman offensive line and has helped the Fightin' Engineer establish over 50 new school records over the past two seasons. His efforts have helped the past two Rose-Hulman teams set new school records for points in a season, tallying 389 points in 2014 and 426 in 2015. The team also set a school record with 58 touchdowns scored this season.
Individually, Demos allowed no sacks and was called for no holding penalties this season. His efforts keyed an offensive line that set a school record by allowing just eight sacks this year.
Thompson led the Fightin' Engineers with five interceptions in his first year at the starting cornerback position. He was a reserve quarterback as a freshman and transitioned to the secondary this season, becoming a first-team all-conference and third-team all-region cornerback.
Thompson finished third on the team with 41 tackles, including 28 solo efforts. He also added four pass breakups. He secured the Manchester win with an interception on the final drive, and had a caerer-high 11 tackles against NCAA qualifier Franklin.
Both Demos and Thompson were first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selections this season. Rose-Hulman's 8-2 record was the team's most wins in a season since 1988. The Fightin' Engineers open the 2016 season at home against Illinois College on Sept. 3.
