CINCINNATI, Ohio --- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's golf team finished in 9th place at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational to open up their spring season. The Fightin' Engineers played a 36-hole event over the course of two days and were in seventh place heading into Sunday.
Junior Sam Pastoriza finished in 30th place overall with an 85 on Saturday, and an 82 on Sunday to total 167 strokes for the weekend. Freshman Brennan Santaniello shot a total of 179 stroked to finish in 53rd place, and junior Andrew Rhine shot 180 strokes in the two-day event to finish 56th.
The field of the invitational included 10 teams and a total of 80 golfers. Conference schools that participated in the Mount St. Joseph Invitational include: Franklin (5th), Defiance (6th), Hanover (8th), and Manchester (10th). Mount St. Joseph placed 2nd on the weekend at Aston Oaks Golf Course.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to the links on Wednesday at Hulman Links. They will take on Wabash College for the Giant-Engineer Classic. Tee off is set for 2 p.m.
