Park Wins Medalist Honors to Lead R-H Invite 4th Place


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Senior Sanders Park won Medalist honors to lead the Fightin' Engineers fourth-place team finish at the Rose-Hulman Men's Golf Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Hulman Links Golf Course.

Park won Medalist honors with rounds of 75 and 72 to win the individual competition by two shots.  He started the final round on the fourth hole, and birdied holes two and three to secure a two-shot win.

Junior Sam Pastoriza added a fifth-place finish to bolster the Rose-Hulman team score.  Pastoriza shot a round of 75 on Friday and 76 on Saturday.

The top-five team scores for Rose-Hulman also included Warren Whithaus with rounds of 80 and 81; Brennan Santaniello with scores of 87 and 78; and Luke Peoples with rounds of 86 and 80.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference was well represented with three teams in the top five at the 10-team event.  Franklin won the team scoring at 610, followed by Mount St. Joseph with 615, North Central at 619, Rose-Hulman at 622 and Judson at 631.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Hanover Invitational on April 9-10.
