Balanced Scoring Leads to 12th Place at R-H Invite

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Fightin' Engineer men's golf team relied on its depth to place 12th overall in the Rose-Hulman Invitational at Hulman Links Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.

Es Wittayakom led Rose-Hulman's individual performance with a 14th place finish out of 98 golfers.  Wittayakom recorded scores of 79 and 74 on the weekend.

Brady Vaughan came home second among Fightin' Engineers with rounds of 85 and 79.  Andrew Rhine recorded rounds of 85 and 81.

The performance also included Luke Peoples with rounds of 87 and 81, and Brennan Santaniello rounding out the Fightin' Engineer top five with scores of 86 and 82.

Rose-Hulman stands 12th overall in the tournament that featured a tight battle at the top.  Transylvania and Kalamazoo tied for team-high honors with two-day scores of 603, with Transylvania winning the tiebreaker for the lowest fifth player score.  Travis Veenhuis of Kalamazoo was Medalist with rounds of 71 and 75.

Rose-Hulman will return to action on April 14 at Oglethorpe University as part of its team spring trip.
