RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team improved to 2-0 in the Heartland Collegaite Athletic Conference this season with a 2-0 win this afternoon at Earlham College.
Junior Austin Webb and senior Ben Lyon scored goals to propel the offense in the first half, and the Engineers used stingy defense to limit the Quakers to just one shot on goal. Lyon assisted Webb on the first goal of the match as the Fightin' Engineers took control early.
The 2-0 win against Earlham was the 10th win for RHIT in the last 12 meetings between the schools.
Rose-Hulman improves to 6-5 on the season and 2-0 in the HCAC. Earlham drops to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in HCAC play.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action on Saturday October 8 at Manchester. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
