Men's Soccer Remains Perfect in HCAC Play

ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play Wednesday after a 2-0 victory at Anderson University.

Alex Jansen scored his fourth goal of the season in the 28th minute to give the Fightin' Engineers an early 1-0 lead.  In the 85th minute, Turner Perkins converted a late penalty kick to secure the victory for the Fightin' Engineers.  

Goalkeeper Carter Wright collected three saves on the night.  

Rose-Hulman controlled much of the game, out shooting the Ravens 16-8.  The Fightin' Engineers also earned 10 corner kicks; the Ravens had just five.  

With the win Rose-Hulman improved to 8-5 in 2016 and a perfect 4-0 in the HCAC.  Anderson University dropped to 6-7 and 0-4 in the HCAC.  

The next game for the men will be on Saturday October 15 at Defiance.  Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
