TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Nick Kowalkowski and junior Austin Webb earned spots on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region Team, in results released today by the national organization.
Webb captured second-team all-region honors, while Kowalkowski was selected a third-team all-region player.
Webb continued a strong postseason of accolades with this all-region selection. He was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Most Valuable Player and captured a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-America squad earlier this month. He scored a team-high 10 goals, including two game winners. His career totals include 22 goals, eight assists and 52 points in 63 career appearances.
Kowalkowski was named HCAC Defensive Most Valuable Player and all-region for the second consecutive year. The four-year player started 83 career games with five goals, three assists and 13 points. Defensively, his efforts helped Rose-Hulman set a school record for shutouts in a season twice.
Rose-Hulman reached the HCAC Tournament Championship Game for the fourth consecutive year in 2016 after finishing with a perfect 9-0 regular season league record to claim title honors. The Fightin' Engineers finished 14-6 overall, highlighted by the nine-game conference winning streak.
