TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Georges Adam has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season, in results released by the league office on Monday.
Adam finished a perfect 3-0 in both singles and doubles play to help Rose-Hulman finish 2-1 last week. The Fightin' Engineers defeated their two NCAA Division III foes in Ohio Wesleyan 5-4 and Mount St. Joseph 9-0.
Adam was 3-0 at the No. 1 doubles position, 2-0 at the No. 1 singles spot, and 1-0 at the No. 2 singles position during the week. He and doubles partner Brandon Benedict set a single-season Rose-Hulman school record with their 17th win as a team this season at Ohio Wesleyan.
Adam increased his overall record to 12-7 in singles play and 19-6 in doubles matches this season with last week's results. His career record stands at 37-17 in singles play and 44-18 in doubles matches.
Rose-Hulman stands 14-7 overall and leads the HCAC at 5-0 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers return to action with a doubleheader on Saturday, hosting Defiance at 10 a.m. and regionally ranked Wabash at 4 p.m. at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
