Men's Tennis Tops Wooster, Falls to D-I Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology came from behind to earn a win against Wooster, before falling to an NCAA Division I foe in Dayton on Sunday.

In the opener, the Fightin' Engineers rallied from a 4-2 deficit with wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to capture a 5-4 win over Wooster.  Andre Adam earned a three-set win at No. 4, Andrew Schiffman won in straight sets at No. 6, and Austin Perry claimed the deciding match 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 5 position.

Brandon Benedict added Rose-Hulman's first singles win of the day by a 6-2, 5-7, 6-0 margin at No. 2 singles.  Rose-Hulman also won at No. 3 doubles with Perry and Joe Kendall by an 8-2 count.

In the nightcap, Rose-Hulman battled NCAA Division I Wright State in a competitive matchup before falling 5-2.

The Fightin' Engineers won a pair of singles matches against Wright State in the second match of the day.  Georges Adam claimed a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles, and Schiffman won 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 6 spot. 

Rose-Hulman stands 10-6 on the season and hosts Anderson and Coe in a doubleheader next Saturday at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
