NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won its 35th consecutive match against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and improved to 5-0 in league play this season with an 8-1 victory at Manchester University on Friday afternoon.
Rose-Hulman improved to 12-7 overall and 12-2 against NCAA Division III opposition with its eighth win in its last nine matches. The Fightin' Engineers have won three consecutive HCAC regular season and tournament championships, and seek their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance this season.
Singles winners included Ian Landwehr at No. 1; Cam Metzger at No. 2; Andrew Schiffman at No. 3; Austin Perry at No. 4; Grant Stamper at No. 5; and Brendan Goldacker at No. 6. Doubles winners included Metzger and Andre Adam at No. 1; and Landwehr and Perry at No. 2. The top five flights ended with straight set wins for the Fightin' Engineers, while Goldacker won the third set 6-2 at No. 6.
Rose-Hulman returns to action with a pair of matches against No. 18 ranked Case Western Reserve University as part of the Kalamazoo Invitational on Saturday in Michigan.
