CLERMONT, Fla. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology sophomore pitcher Jenny Miller tossed the third softball no-hitter in Fightin' Engineer program history to lead a 10-0 win over Northwestern (Minn.) on Thursday night.

Senior Taylor Lockhart helped secure a doubleheader sweep by tossing a shutout of her own in the nightcap, helping Rose-Hulman defeat Mount Union 1-0.  Lockhart's performance marked her third consecutive shutout during the team's Florida trip.

Miller allowed just two base runners in the six-inning no hitter, with one walk and three strikeouts.  She joins Tabatha Doughty (2001) and Jordan Goslee (2009) as Rose-Hulman softball pitchers to throw a no-hitter.

Rose-Hulman scored twice in the first, third and fourth innings to earn a 6-0 lead.  The Fightin' Engineers added four more runs in the seventh to push the lead beyond eight runs and shorten the game to six innings.

Sophomore Michelle Korf led the offensive attack with four hits, including a triple and two doubles.  Korf finished 4-4 with three runs sscored and three RBIs.  Senior Marissa Stout added two doubles among three hits with four RBIs.

Miller and Gabbi Markison scored twice each to provide more depth to the offense.  Rose-Hulman improved to 4-3 on its spring trip with the victory.

In the nightcap, Rose-Hulman scratched out just two hits but the strong pitching by Lockhart and timely hitting proved enough.  With the game scoreless in the sixth, senior Jett Bender drew a walk and sophomore Jessica Will smashed a double to score Bender with the game's only run.

Lockhart tossed a complete-game five-hitter in the circle with seven strikeouts for her third straight shutout.

Rose-Hulman stands 5-3 on its Florida trip and completes the week with matchups against Roger Williams and John Carroll on Friday.
