Softball Splits Twinbill at Webster


ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Webster University split a pair of 1-0 pitching duals in college softball action on Saturday afternoon.

Webster won the first game 1-0, before Rose-Hulman won the nightcap 1-0.

In the first game, Rose-Hulman had five hits led by senior Jett Bender with two singles.  Senior Taylor Lockhart pitched six strikeouts and allowed no earned runs in a complete game performance.

In the second game, the Fightin' Engineers had six hits and a run scored by Maddie Struble.  Junior Morgan Dreyer provided the key hit of the game with an RBI single to bring home the lone run.  Sophomore Jenny Miller pitched her second shutout of the year and improved her pitching record to 3-0.

Rose-Hulman stands 7-5 on the season and opens its home season against Spalding University on March 26 at the Engineer Softball Field.
