TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology captured two swimming and diving weekly honors from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, in results released today by the league office.
Foote established new Rose-Hulman school records for 11 dives in both the one-meter and three-meter events at the Transylvania Invitational over the weekend. Her second place score of 417.22 in the one-meter event and first place score of 437.85 in the three-meter event broke her own school records and were both NCAA regional qualifying standards.
Martin recorded three school records and won three individual events during the Transylvania Invitational over the weekend. He finished with school records in the 100-yard freestyle (44.92), the 200-yard butterfly (1:47.73) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:39.70) as the leadoff leg in the winning 800-yard freestyle relay. He also helped the 200-yard freestyle relay team establish a new school record time of 1:23.24 as he led off with a lifetime best in the 50-yard freestyle (20.76).
Martin's individual wins came in the 50-yard freestyle (20.92), 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly (48.21). Three of his times are among the best in the nation including the 200 butterfly (1st), 100 butterfly (2nd) and the 100 freestyle (4th).
Rose-Hulman finished first on the men's side and fifth in the women's competition at the Transylvania Invitational. The Fightin' Engineers return to intercollegiate competition at home against Illinois Wesleyan on Jan. 9.
