TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will make its first appearance in the new Vigo County Aquatic Center on Saturday, facing Indiana State and Evansville in a three-team event.
The Rose-Hulman women will face the first-year NCAA Division I program from crosstown Indiana State, along with established Division I program Evansville on Saturday. The Rose-Hulman men will compete in a dual matchup against Evansville.
The Fightin' Engineer men won 10 events to defeat Wabash 184-114 in their most recent meet on Nov. 5 at the Sports and Recreation Center. Senior Pierce Bartine and junior Cam Gill led the performances with two individual wins and two relay victories each. Bartine won the 50-freestyle (21.93) and 100-butterfly (50.92) individual events, while Gill won the 100-backstroke (54.04) and the 200-backstroke (1:59.16).
On the women's side, Rose-Hulman placed second at the Illinois Wesleyan Halloween Invitational on Oct. 29 in their most recent meet. The Fightin' Engineers won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:57.59 to highlight the effort. Winning team members included Ellie Hong, Savannah Rice, Bethany Lefeber and Parker Brady to highlight the meet. Hong also had an individual win in the 200-backstroke (2:10.56).
After Saturday's meet, Rose-Hulman will compete at Valparaiso University on Friday Nov. 18 in their final pre-Thanksgiving meet.
