Isaiah Smith Named HCAC Men's Runner of the Week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Isaiah Smith has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Runner of the Week for his efforts in the Terre Haute Double Dual last weekend.

Smith placed first in the 200-meter dash and second in the 60-meter dash to help Rose-Hulman defeat Manchester in the Terre Haute Double Dual on Friday.  He recorded a winning time of 22.93 seconds in the 200, and completed the 60-meters in 7.17 seconds to bring home second place honors.  

Smith was also part of the team's winning 4-x-200 meter relay effort.  His Rose-Hulman career includes six HCAC relay championships and 25 HCAC point scoring performances entering the 2017 indoor season.  Smith is also part of the current 4-x-200 meter relay school record performance (1:30.60).

The Fightin' Engineers return to action at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Invitational this weekend at the Sports & Recreation Center.
