TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team is ranked No. 4 in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region, in the weekly computerized results released by the USTFCCCA.
Mount Union, Ohio Northern and Calvin hold the top three spots in the region, followed by the Fightin' Engineers. Rose-Hulman most recently enjoyed a strong second place men's finish at the Illinois Wesleyan Keck Select Meet on Saturday. Josh Himes was named HCAC Field Athlete of the Week after winning the shot put and finishing third in the weight throw last weekend.
On the women's side, Rose-Hulman has been regionally ranked twice this season and relied on a school record triple jump performance by Gabi Razma to lead a strong sixth-place effort at Illinois Wesleyan.
The overall season has included three meet wins and one second place finish for the Fightin' Engineer men. The women have one victory, one runner-up and one third-place performance so far in 2017.
After this weekend's action, Rose-Hulman will host the 2017 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Sports & Recreation Center on Saturday Feb. 18.
