Himes Repeats as HCAC Field Athlete of the Week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Josh Himes has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the DePauw University Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Himes won the shot put (52' 0") and also captured the weight throw title (51' 5") at DePauw.  His efforts helped Rose-Hulman win the team championship at the meet.  Himes also passed his All-American father Stacy in the school's career record best with the third-best shot put mark in school history at 52' 0"

This award marks the third time this season that Himes has been named HCAC Field Athlete of the Week.  His career highlights include the 2016 HCAC outdoor discus championship and six top-three throwing event finishes in conference championship competition since 2015.

Himes and the Fightin' Engineers will host the 2017 HCAC Indoor Championships at the Sports and Recreation Center on Saturday.
