TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Andrew Okruch has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the Washington University (Mo.) Invitational on Friday night.
Okruch recorded the No. 10 ranked discus throw effort in NCAA Division III so far this season with a winning toss of 155' 8". The mechanical engineering major also placed second in the shot put with a mark of 46' 4 1/4".
Okruch helped Rose-Hulman place second overall among eight teams at the nationally competitive meet. The Fightin' Engineers have a team dual meet record of 56-2 against men's indoor and outdoor competition so far this season.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Eastern Illinois University Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Charleston, Ill.
