Eric Fiacable Named HCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Eric Fiacable has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Event Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the DePauw Invitational last weekend.

Fiacable set a Rose-Hulman school record to win the weight throw (56' 6 3/4") with a mark that ranks No. 26 in the NCAA Division III so far this season.  In addition, Fiacable came home fourth in the shot put (44' 7 1/2") as Rose-Hulman placed second as a team in the 14-team event.

On the season, Fiacable is part of a Fightin' Engineer squad that has a dual meet record of 30-6 so far this season.

This weekend, Fiacable and the track and field programs will head to Anderson University to compete in the 2018 HCAC Championships.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
