Women's Basketball Win Streak Hits Five in Home Win



TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology shot 50% from the field and outrebounded Manchester University 39-23 to earn a 70-45 women's basketball victory in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday at Hulbert Arena.

Freshman Ally Bromenschenkel led the Fightin' Engineer scoring attack with 14 points and six rebounds.  Junior Kristen Belyea also reached double figures with four three-pointers and 12 points.

Other key contributors to the Rose-Hulman offense included junior Josie Schmidt with eight points; and junior Abbie Marshall and sophomore Brianna Gliesmann with six points each.

Senior Cassidy Cain added five assists, and Marshall contributed four to lead the passing effort.  

Samantha Bolen led the Manchester offense with 16 points, and Katie Arterburn added eight points for the Spartans.  Rose-Hulman held Manchester to just 32% from the field in a strong defensive performance.

The win completed a 5-0 homestand for Rose-Hulman as the Fightin' Engineers improved to 10-3 overall and 7-0 at home this season.  

Rose-Hulman stands 4-2 in HCAC play and travels to Anderson University on Wednesday night in another in-state matchup.  Manchester stands 4-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
