TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology freshman Ally Bromenschenkel has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts in two Fightin' Engineer victories last week.
Bromenschenkel had a career-high 18 points with seven rebounds in an 83-70 win over Hanover and tallied 14 points and six rebounds in a 70-45 win over Manchester.
For the week, Bromenschenkel averaged team-highs of 16.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and shot a blistering 71.0% (12-for-17) from the field. The freshman also added three assists, four blocks and three steals, while playing just under 24 minutes per game.
On the season, Bromenschenkel has started 12 games and averages 8.3 points per game. She leads the team in field goal percentage (61.0%) and ranks second on the team in steals (10) and blocked shots (10).
Rose-Hulman also completed a perfect 5-0 homestand with Saturday's win over Manchester. The Fightin' Engineers are tied for third in the HCAC standings at 4-2, and at 10-3 are off to their best start since the 2006-07 season.
Rose-Hulman returns to action with road games at Anderson on Wednesday and at Defiance on Saturday.
