RHIT Women's Win Streak Hits Six at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology shot 47% from the field and outrebounded Anderson University 43-31 to earn a 65-55 women's basketball victory in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening at Anderson.

Junior Josie Schmidt led the Fightin' Engineer scoring attack with 13 points and nine rebounds.  Sophomore Alyzia Dilworth also reached double figures with 11 points.

Other key contributors to the Rose-Hulman offense included freshmen Ally Bromenschenkel and Chiarra Franklin each with 10 points and three rebounds.

Senior Andi Evers added three assists, and freshman Abby Bromenschenkel added five rebounds and three assists in the effort.  

Blayr Poston led the Anderson offense with 19 points, and Cailey Cotter added 12 points for the Ravens.  Rose-Hulman held Anderson to just 30% from the field in a strong defensive performance.

Rose-Hulman jumped out to a 20-2 lead after the first quarter to help secure the victory.  The win continued a six-game win streak for Rose-Hulman as the Fightin' Engineers improved to 11-3 overall and 5-2 in HCAC play this season.  

Rose-Hulman travels to Defiance College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in another in-state matchup.  Anderson stands 3-11 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
