TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology sophomore Ally Bromenschenkel has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Fightin' Engineers to a perfect 3-0 record last week.
Bromenschenkel was named Most Valuable Player of the North Park Invitational after recording a huge performance in the Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic against St. Mary-of-the-Woods last Monday.
Bromenschenkel averaged 21.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game over wins against St. Mary-of-the-Woods, North Central and North Park. Her performances included 23 points and 18 rebounds against the crosstown Pomeroys; 23 points and eight rebounds against previously unbeaten North Central; and 19 points with six rebounds against previously unbeaten North Park.
For the week, Bromenschenkel shot 72% from the field and 80% from the free-throw line. She also recorded five blocked shots, five assists and three steals. The mechanical engineering major was named HCAC Freshman of the Year in 2016 and was a second-team all-league selection last season.
Rose-Hulman improved to 4-1 on the season with a 3-0 week. The Fightin' Engineers return to action with two games this week, at Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday and at Mount St. Joseph on Saturday.
