NORMAL, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Hayley Vonder Haar recorded one of the best rounds in school history to cap the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational on Sunday.
Vonder Haar fired a round of 76 that ranks as the third-best single-round score in Fightin' Engineer women's golf history and the best her four-year college career.
Vonder Haar recorded four birdies and also buried a 20-foot putt for eagle on the par five 17th hole. She placed 21st overall among a field of national caliber players for the 36-hole event, carding rounds of 80 and 76.
Sophomore Ashton Foushee finished second among Rose-Hulman golfers with rounds of 83 and 88. Senior Jaclyn Smith scored 90 and 93, while junior Taylor King had rounds of 94 and 93. Freshman Abbi Wynn added a first day score of 90.
Rose-Hulman completes the 2015-16 women's golf season at the Franklin College Invitational next weekend.
