Women's Golf Comes Home 3rd at RHIT Invite


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The women's golf team came home with a third place finish out of 12 teams at the Rose-Hulman Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday at Hulman Links Golf Course.

Marian (Ind.) earned the event title with a two-day total of 616.  The Knights swept the top four finishing positions, led by Anna Tucker (78-73) and Annie Getzin (76-77).

Franklin College finished second with a score of 681, just two shots ahead of Rose-Hulman in third at 683.  Ashton Foushee led the Fightin' Engineers with scores of 88 and 81 to place 12th overall.  

Other contributors to the team score for Rose-Hulman included Taylor King in 14th with scores of 81 and 89.  Namuunaa Nadmid and Rebecca Su tied for 15th overall with identical two day scores of 84 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday.

Two freshmen playing as individuals recorded two of Rose-Hulman's top three scores on Sunday.  Emily Smith carded a round of 83, and Mia Ponsot scored an 88.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational next weekend at Ironwood Golf Course.
