Three Players Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Recognition

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Three members of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's golf team were named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars for their efforts on the course and in the classroom this season.

Lauren ConleyCaitlin Coverstone and Rebecca Su were honored by the WGCA after compiling grade point averages above 3.50 and achieving defined statistical accomplishments on the golf course.

Conley earned all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors as a freshman with an 8th place finish at the league tournament last fall.  She recorded three rounds in the 70s last season, including a career-best score of 78.  Her overall scoring average of 83.00 stands No. 4 in Rose-Hulman single-season history.

Coverstone won a share of the HCAC individual championship with rounds of 76 and 79 at last fall's conference tournament.  The first-team all-HCAC honoree was also the league Freshman of the Year.  She established new school records for single-round scoring (73), 36-hole tournament scoring (151), and single-season scoring (80.17) in a season that included five rounds in the 70s.

Su currently holds Rose-Hulman's career scoring average record at 83.1 strokes per round (minimum 20 rounds).  She recorded the third-best single-season scoring average in Rose-Hulman history last season (82.75) and was a 2016 all-conference honoree.  She has one career hole-in-one during the 2016-17 campaign and has a career-best round of 78.

Rose-Hulman finished second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships last fall.  The 2018-19 season begins at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational hosted by Denison University on Sept. 1-2.
