NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team suffered a setback today on the road at Manchester, falling to the Spartans by a final score of 2-1.
Machester took an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute on a goal from Courtney Hersick. The Fightin' Engineers rallied and teid the game before halftime in the 37th minute on a goal from Desiree Bell.
Manchester wrestled the lead back for good in the 60th minute on a goal from Maranda Birmingham.
Rose-Hulman outshot Manchester 34-9.
The loss drops RHIT to 8-5 overall and 2-1 in the HCAC. Their next game is Wednesday October 12 at home against Anderson. Gametime is set for 7 p.m at Intramural Field.
