TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology sophomore Jessica Wells has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the Fightin' Engineers two wins last week.
Wells, the 2016 HCAC Freshman of the Year, scored the game winning goal in both Rose-Hulman victories last week. She helped Rose-Hulman rally from a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 in overtime at Earlham on Tuesday with an overtime goal in the 103rd minute. On Saturday, Wells snapped a 1-1 tie with the eventual game winner in a 3-1 win over Manchester.
Wells leads Rose-Hulman with six goals and 15 points so far this season. The civil engineering major has recorded 14 career goals and seven game-winning goals in 31 career matches at Rose-Hulman.
The Fightin' Engineers (5-7, 2-1 HCAC) return to action on Wednesday with a trip to Anderson University.
