ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team stands 2-1-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference after a hard fought 1-1 draw at Anderson University on Wednesday night.
Madeline Romeo provided the Fightin' Engineer goal on a penalty kick in the 80th minute to knot the score at 1-1. Emily Buchman had scored the first goal for Anderson in the 41st minute, before Rose-Hulman battled back to earn a key HCAC standings point.
Rose-Hulman fired off nine shots in the contest, led by Romeo with four and Samantha Jacobs with two. Anderson stands 7-2-2 overall and 2-1-1 in HCAC play, while the Fightin' Engineers are 5-7-1 and 2-1-1 in league games. Rose-Hulman returns home to face Defiance College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
