Women's Tennis Team Earns ITA Academic Awards

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team recognition, in results released by the national organization.

The Fightin' Engineers were honored for compiling a team grade point average of 3.44 during the 2013-14 season.  Rose-Hulman finished second in both the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and conference tournament standings.

Six individuals also received individual All-Academic recognition from the ITA.  Lauren Miller (Highland, Ill.), Sydney Short (Langley, Va./Grafton), Lauren Edwards (Franklin, Ind.), Colleen Stevenson (Stow, Mass./Nashoba Regional), Marie Stettler (Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton Senior) and Paige Cook (Terre Haute/North Vigo) were honored for achieving greater than a 3.50 grade point average and appearing in varsity play.

Rose-Hulman opens the 2014 season with a home Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Hanover College on Sept. 13.
