Women's Tennis falls 6-3 to Hanover

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team dropped its season opener to Hanover College 6-3 at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.

The Fightin' Engineers fell behind 2-1 after doubles. Sophomore Lauren Edwards and freshman Isabella Evans won second doubles by a score of 8-6. Hanover won both first and third doubles by scores of 8-1 and 8-3 respectively.

In singles, senior Suzana Mohd won her first singles match over Mackenzie Spicer 6-4, 6-4. In addition, Evans won her second match of the day at second singles, a 6-0, 7-5 win over Alexis Taylor. Rose-Hulman dropped the other four singles flights in straight sets.

Rose-Hulman drops to 0-1 on the season and will return to action tomorrow (Sunday), Sept. 14 with two matches against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association members. The Engineers face off against Trine University at 9 a.m. followed by Olivet College at 1 p.m.
