FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team open its non-traditional season Saturday, March 14, falling 5-2 at Franklin.
After dropping both doubles flights 8-3, the Fightin' Engineers battled back to win the third and fourth singles flights. At third singles, sophomore Sydney Short defeated Chelsea Platt 6-2, 6-1. At fourth singles, sophomore Becca Stanley picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Megan Battles.
Unfortunately for Rose-Hulman, Franklin took the other three singles flights to attain the victory.
Rose-Hulman continues its non-traditional spring season next Saturday (March 21) at Principia. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
