TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 5-4 on the season and 4-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 9-0 women's tennis victory over Earlham College on Saturday at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
Rose-Hulman swept the six singles position behind convincing victories by Bella Evans at the No. 1 position; Linde Schaffer at the No. 2 spot; Lauren Miller at No. 3; Lauren Edwards at No. 4; Becca Stanley at No. 5; and freshman Coco Liu at No. 6.
The doubles teams of Evans and Schaffer; Miller and Edwards; and Stanley along with Sydney Short swept the three wins by 8-0 or 8-1 scores.
Rose-Hulman improved to 5-4 overall an 4-3 in HCAC play with the victory, while Earlham dropped to 0-9 and 0-7 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers host Transylvania University next Saturday in the regular season finale.
