TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology completed the regular season at 6-4 overall and 5-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 5-4 women's tennis victory over Transylvania University on Saturday.
Senior Lauren Miller and junior Lauren Edwards combined for three points with wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions, and a victory at No. 2 doubles. The doubles team of Becca Stanley and Sydney Short added a fourth point, and Short won at the No. 6 singles position to secure the victory for Rose-Hulman.
The Fightin' Engineers will compete in the six-team HCAC Tournament at West Indy Racquet Club starting Friday. Rose-Hulman will face Transylvania in a matchup of the No. 4 vs. No. 5 seeded teams on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The winner advances to the HCAC Semifinal Round on Saturday to square off with No. 1 seeded Hanover.
