TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology sophomore Bella Evans captured first-team honors to lead four all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference awards in women's tennis, in results released by the league office.
Evans finished 7-4 as the team's No. 1 singles layer and compiled a 5-7 record at the No. 1 doubles position this season. She improved her career singles record to 20-4 with this year's performance.
Rose-Hulman placed three players on the honorable mention all-conference squad. Freshman Linde Schaffer, senior Lauren Miller and junior Lauren Edwards earned the honors after strong seasons at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions.
Schaffer finished 5-6 in singles play and 5-7 in doubles play this fall. Miller and Edwards combined for an 8-3 doubles record as the No. 2 doubles squad. Miller was 7-5 overall to increase her career record to 31-21. Edwards was 8-3 overall to move to 18-7 as a Fightin' Engineer.
Junior Becca Stanley earned a spot on the all-HCAC Sportsmanship Team for her efforts this season. Stanley was 4-6 in singles play and 7-5 in doubles matches in 2015.
Rose-Hulman finished 7-5 overall and 5-3 in HCAC play this season. The Fightin' Engineers placed fourth overall in the regular season standings and reached the HCAC Tournament semifinal round last weekend.
