Women's Tennis Earns ITA Academic Honors

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team earned several honors and was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team on Friday.

Rose-Hulman was honored with ITA All-Academic Team standards after the team achieved an overall grade point average of above 3.20 last year.

Individually, six players received ITA All-Academic Awards after compiling over a 3.50 grade point average and appearing in varsity play during the 2015-16 academic year.  Individual award winners included Paige Bateman, Lauren Edwards, Coco Liu, Lauren Miller, Linde Schaffer and Sydney Short.

Rose-Hulman finished 8-9 overall last season and features a mix of youth and experience for the upcoming 2016 season.  The Fightin' Engineers open play on Saturday Sept. 3.
