Women's Tennis Handles Franklin 8-1

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with an 8-1 victory over Franklin College on Wednesday night at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.

Rose-Hulman swept the six singles matches, with Bella Evans (No. 2), Naomi Bhagat (No. 3), Sydney Short (No. 5) and Becca Stanley (No. 6) winning in straight sets.  Anna Thompson (No. 1) and Lauren Edwards (No. 4) captured three-set victories.

In doubles play, the No. 2 team of Evans and Linde Schaffer picked up a victory, as did the No. 3 team of Edwards and Kyla Jarvis.

Rose-Hulman returns to action with a key HCAC matchup against Hanover College on Saturday afternoon.  The match, weather permitting, will be held at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
