TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology remained in first place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball standings with a 25-20, 26-24, 25-21 victory over Franklin College on Wednesday night at Hulbert Arena.
Freshman Mia Styczynski led a balanced Rose-Hulman offense with 12 kills and added three block assists. Senior Emily McLendon added nine kills and a team-high four block assists, while junior Bailey MacInnis had seven kills.
Junior Alison Rogozinski paced the Engineers with 17 assists, and freshman Katie Orbeta contributed 12. Junior Gabi Razma recorded an impressive 31 digs, with Rogozinski also reaching double figures with 11. Orbeta had a team-high two service aces.
Franklin was led by Amanda Lelivelt with 10 kills. Ashley Bazier added 17 assists, and Libby Stahl had 18 digs.
Rose-Hulman improved to 9-10 overall and 3-0 in conference play with the victory, while Franklin dropped to 11-8 and 1-2 in league matches. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Otterbein University on Friday in non-conference action.
