Volleyball Tops Berea After Falling to Hanover

HANOVER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team fell to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Hanover then battled back to top Berea on Saturday afternoon.

In the 25-15, 25-17, 25-13 win over Berea, Marissa Gollnick and Ellese Petty led the offense with seven kills each.  Freshman Katie Orbeta added 17 assists, with Gollnick contributing 12 assists and a team-high 14 digs.

Freshman Mia Styczynski added one solo block and two block assists to lead the front row effort.  Gollnick and Bailey MacInnis had two service aces each.

Hanover improved to 4-0 in HCAC play and 17-7 overall with a three-set win to open the Saturday doubleheader.  Gollnick had a team-high eight kills, and Orbeta recorded 11 assists to pace the performance.  Junior Gabi Razma had 12 digs, and joined Julia Hammond with one service ace.

Rose-Hulman stands 11-14 overall and 3-1 in HCAC play.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Tuesday with a home matchup against Earlham.
