TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Two members of the Rose-Hulman volleyball team picked up all-conference honors Wednesday afternoon. Both Gabi Razma and Bailey MacInnis were selected to the All-HCAC 1st team squad.
Gabi Razma, a junior from Durango, Colorado, started all 32 matches this season. She led the team and the Heartland Conference with 621 digs and ranked 2nd in the HCAC with 5.70 digs per set. Razma was named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season. Razma currently ranks 2nd in Rose-Hulman history with 1,993 career digs. This was the third All-HCAC selection for the junior.
Bailey MacInnis also earned HCAC 1st team All-Conference honors. This season, MacInnis appeared in 30 matches and led the Fightin' Engineers with 289 kills and 2.95 kills per set. Her 289 kills ranked 8th in the HCAC Conference and her 2.95 kills per set ranked 6th. The sophomore from Boulder, Colorado also added 118 digs this fall. This was MacInnis' first all-conference selection.
Both Razma and MacInnis were also both named to the CoSIDA NCAA Division III Academic All-District VII Volleyball Team back on November 3.
Emily McLendon earned a spot on the all-honorable mention team. The senior from Lexington, Ky., ranked 2nd in the conference in blocks per set with 1.22. Her 371 total blocks ranks 2nd all-time in Rose-Hulman history. Ellese Petty was named to the all-sportsmanship team on Wednesday afternoon as well. The junior palyed in nine matches and picked up eight kills and 11 digs in 2016.
Rose-Hulman finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 15-17. The Fightin' Engineers finished HCAC play with a record of 6-3, good for a third place finish. Rose-Hulman advanced to the semifinals of the HCAC Tournament this season.
