ANDERSON, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 3-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action with a 25-21, 25-16, 25-22 victory at Anderson University on Wednesday night.
Bailey MacInnis led the Fightin' Engineers with 16 kills and just two hitting errors. Becca Poppel added 11 kills to provide offensive support. Katie Orbeta contributed a team-high 31 assists and three service aces to the performance.
Defensively, Gabi Razma recorded 31 digs to lead the Rose-Hulman back row. Katryna Dahlberg pitched in with 14 digs, and Alison Rogozinski had 10 digs to go along with nine assists. Maria Bruner paced the front row with one solo block and three block assists.
Rose-Hulman improved to 13-8 overall and 3-0 in HCAC play in a match that featured the Fightin' Engineers leading nearly wire-to-wire in each set. Anderson dropped to 9-13 overall and 0-2 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers host Bluffton University as part of Homecoming weekend on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
