Volleyball Moves to 5-1 in HCAC Play with Home Win Over MSJ

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 17-10 overall and 5-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 22-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-13 victory over Mount St. Joseph in volleyball action on Wednesday night at Hulbert Arena.

Bailey MacInnis led the Fightin' Engineers with 21 kills in the match.  Katie Orbeta added her fourth triple-double of the season with 10 kills, 16 digs and 38 assists.  Becca Poppel also reached double figures with 10 kills.

Alison Rogozinski provided 17 assists to the effort.  Katryna Dahlberg had three service aces, with Rogozinski and Poppel contributing two each. 

Defensively, Gabi Razma led the squad with 32 digs, Poppel added 19, Orbeta contributed 16 and Dahlberg had 10.  Mackenzie Gossard led the front row blocking performance with four block assists.

Briana Looney led Mt. St. Joseph with 14 kills.  Riley Brashear had 16 assists, and Sydney Wilzbach added 15 for the Lions.

Rose-Hulman rallied with convincing wins of 25-17 in set two and 25-13 in set four after narrowly falling in the first set.  The Fightin' Engineers are 5-1 in league play and host 6-0 Hanover College on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hulbert Arena.
