TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman volleyball team's upset bid of HCAC-leading Hanover College came up short Satruday afternoon as the Fightin' Engineers fell to the Panthers three sets to one.
RHIT came out with great energy and got off to a hot start, claiming the first set against Hanover by a score of 25-14. The Panthers recovered and took the remaining sets by scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-18.
Defensively, four Engineers reached double figures in digs. Senior Gabi Razma led the way with 21 digs. Orbeta completed the triple-double with 13 digs, and senior Becca Poppel added 12. Freshman Katryna Dahlberg was the fourth Engineer with double figures in digs with 10.
The loss dropped Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to 17-11, 5-2 HCAC. Hanover won their eleventh straight match and improved to 22-5, 7-0 HCAC. Rose-Hulman will return to action on Wednesday October 25th at Earlham College. Gametime is set for 7:30 p.m.
