Women's Cross Country Places 5th at Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's cross country team came home fifth in the University of Evansville Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Emilie Hobbs led the Fightin' Engineers with a 17th place finish in a five-kilometer career best time of 19:52.  Sophomore Kally Morozin placed 20th overall with a mark of 20:16.

Other contributors to the Rose-Hulman team score included freshman Alexa Kovacs in 23rd place (20:42); junior Annelise Cassidy in 30th (20:53); and sophomore Abby Hawkins in 32nd (21:02).

NCAA Division I IPFW won the meet with 26 points, followed by another NCAA Division I program in Evansville with 53.  Vincennes came home third, with Webster, Rose-Hulman, Spalding, Oakland City and Western Kentucky Community College rounding out the team order.

Rose-Hulman will compete in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships on Oct. 29 at Hanover College.
