DEFIANCE, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology swept Defiance College 9-0 in the 2013 women's tennis opener on Saturday afternoon at Defiance.

Senior Marie Stettler (Edgerton, Wis.) and junior Suzana Mohd (Puchong, Malaysia/Mara University) led the effort with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, and teamed up for a win at the No. 1 doubles position.

Senior Paige Cook (Terre Haute/North) and junior Kylie McCollum (Lee's Summit, Mo./West) won at the No. 3 and No. 5 singles positions, and added a No. 2 doubles victory.

Senior Colleen Stevenson (Stow, Mass./Nashoba Regional) and sophomore Lauren Miller (Highland, Ill.) rounded out the singles winners with victories at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots.  The doubles tandem of senior Lauren Reberger (Brazil/Northview) and freshman Sydney Short (Langley, Va./Grafton) also won at the No. 3 position.

Rose-Hulman opens its home season with a 2 p.m. match against Oakland City University on Sunday.
