COMPLETE RESULTS
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 6-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 9-0 sweep over Manchester University on Sunday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers moved in position to clinch the top seed for the HCAC Tournament and secure at least a share of the second men's tennis conference championship in program history with a win over Earlham at home on Saturday April 18.
Sophomore Brandon Benedict and sophomore Georges Adam won at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions, and also teamed up for a No. 1 doubles win. Freshman Cam Metzger and junior Matt Conrad won at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles spots, and also combined for a No. 2 doubles win.
The No. 3 doubles team of Joe Kendall and Erin Miller earned an 8-2 victory, while freshmen Derek Benedict and Tyler Haas rounded out the performance with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Rose-Hulman improved to 8-5 overall and 6-0 in HCAC play, while Manchester dropped to 1-7 and 1-3 in conference matches. The Fightin' Engineers host Earlham College in their next match at home on Saturday.
